Dear Miss Kopatchinskaja,
this morning´s (Sunday September 27) Concertgebouw performance felt like a complete rinsing of the body and soul.

Thank you so much for the experience!

LCD
Hello LCD, hope you mean "rinsing" in a positive way. I like making music with Heinrich Schiff, he is a complete musician and not an administrator :)

Dear Pat !

At the climax of your own cadenza in the Ligeti concerto, you realized an epiphany of something supernatural, which froze my blood and almost welled tears in my eyes at the same time.
Your singing there had the effect of Siren. If that had been on the sea, I would have dived into it !
While playing ‘CRIN 1996’, you were a whirlwind itself.
By the duet with the concertmaster, we witnessed such an entertainer.

But offstage you were just a pretty girl.

Which of them is your SELF?
Your answer may be none or all of them…

Nonetheless let me ask you WHO YOU ARE !

With great admiration,
J

PS Thank you so much for your autograph on the score !! :D
Dear J

I am happy if you enjoyed the concert. In fact the New Japan Philharmonic and Christian Arming did a most competent and satisfying job with this extremely difficult score and therefore I was able to be relaxed and really enjoy the music.

To me Ligeti is one of the greatest composers ever, and his violin concerto is just the most wonderful of the many modern violin concertos in existence. Its also the most difficult. Playing (and probably also listening to) it is somewhat like climbing on the Mount Everest - thrilling, exhausting, but most inspiring and rewarding.

What I tried to do in this evening was just to transmit Ligetis divine inspiration and this is probably what you felt.

Of course to transmit something to a listener one needs to get his attention in the first place. Thats why one has to be entertaining and to avoid the boredom of repetition and didactic teaching.

So now you probably have what I am on stage.

I hope to return to Japan and maybe Osaka in the near future.

Sincerely

Pat

I am so impressed not only by your excellent technique, but also by your great expressiveness when you play, your generosity in giving back to the youth of Moldova, your passion for the art, and your bold and daring reinterpretation of the Beethoven, making it new again!

I'm so glad I voted for your disc on BBC! Thank you so much for everything. I also appreciate the opportunity to leave you these comments, here as well as on your facebook page.

Warm regards,
Larry

Dear Patricia:

I was with my parents, making a trip around Europe, when, sitted in first line, I met you in Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Your passion and strenght were both delighful and surprising.

I made 1 dream come true in this trip: to listen Nikolaus Harnoncourt in Wien; but after listening your concert trio, I think they were 2: the second one, listen to you. :) I arrived to Chile yesterday, with wishes of contacting you. So this site was perfect. I wish you happiness.

Now, after my wonderful trip, I have to return to reality but I am glad of posting here before that.

Regards,
Alexis.

Hallo liebe Patricia,

Massimo

Caro Massimo
La mia madrelingua e romena. In scuola parlava il russo. Ho studiato in Vienna in tedesco. Pat
